Before you start your inventor’s journal

An inventor’s journal is used to record the progress of your invention.  You should start using one right when you think of an idea for an invention.

You can buy a generic perfect bound notebook or use a specifically printed journal.  It is important that the pages of the journal cannot be added or subtracted.

Before buying your journal:

Look for a journal that has pre-printed numbered entry and grip pages, spaces for you and a witness to sign & date, and instructions on how to use the journal.

You should never buy a loose leaf notebook, 3-ring binders or legal pad. Buy a journal with a perfect bound, pages secured as much as possible and with white pages.

Suggested Journal to buy:

The Inventive Minds Journals are inexpensive books. Remember you have to buy a separate log book for each different idea, so inexpensive is sometimes the way to go.
